Wardrobe Styling

Let's get real here, we all hoard clothes!

Maybe its a piece that you purchased for a silly high price and just don't wear but can't let go of, the swimsuit from 2 summers ago that doesn't quite fit but you are determined to get into, the 14 pairs of high high heels though you haven't been out after dark in years (I will own up on that one).

I have trained in personal styling, working with clients to get them the most out of their wardrobe options, looking right for events + ensuring their clothes represent their lifestyle changes.

I believe the way we dress impacts the way we feel + present ourselves throughout the day. It’s not about following trends, buying certain brands, copying someone else’s style, or thinking you have to look a certain way.

Its about finding your own personal style thats suits you + more importantly when you choose an outfit out of your wardrobe it makes you feel good + you show up wherever you need to be feeling confident + walking with your head held a little higher. Showing the world the real you.

From my experience I have found the less I have in my wardrobe the easier it is to get myself styled and I feel like i have more options because i'm choosing from the right things that suit me now best, not having to look through all my old clothes to find something, making me feel overwhelmed + wasting precious time.

Right now for my lifestyle; I like to have a few options of comfortable yoga clothes that last, some t-shirts + shorts that I can get dirty at the park playing with my son, a range of swimwear as I am at the beach as much as possible, some shirts that I can wear over my swimmers + also out to lunch, + one fun dress just incase.

I highly recommend you set aside a couple of hours for a wardrobe stying session with yourself, take it slow, go through all your clothes, activewear, swimwear + underwear too. Try each piece on, seeing how it makes you feel, reminisce, laugh, cry + bid bye bye.

Then sort your clothes into piles;

  • Keep - hang or fold them up so they are easily accessible.

  • Repair -maybe you need a new button, or to get something taken in to fit better, which you can do or take to your local seamstress.

  • Sell - Facebook marketplace or Depop are great places to pass on your pieces you no longer like but someone else might, making them more sustainable for their time on earth + make you some money to invest in new pieces for yourself.

  • Donate - look for a local womens shelter or charity organisation that can benefit from your old pieces.

    Below is a little sample of the survey I use with clients to get an understanding into looks they are into and realistically what they need to be wearing (thinking workwear, lifestyle etc.) for you to consider.

    We would love to see all your pics of what stays + what goes so please share @chasethesunwellbeing
